The course focuses on the diplomatic relations of the Philippines from 1946-2007. A brief historical overview is presented on the nineteenth and early twentieth century interactions between the Philippines and the foreign world. The course concentrates on the political, security, economic, and social aspects of Philippine relations with the international community, particularly with the United Nations, the United States, ASEAN, and Asia in general, the European Union, and other areas where diplomatic relations have been established since 1946.
