This course covers the detailed discussion, appreciation and application of the Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) on the assets, financial and non-financial of a business firm. Emphasis is given on the interpretation and application of the accounting standards on financial assets such as cash, loans and receivables, Investment in equity and debt securities and non-financial assets such as inventories, biological assets, property, plant and equipment, intangibles, investment property, exploration and evaluation of mineral resources assets and non-current assets held for sale.

The related internal control, ethical issues and management of assets are also covered. Exposure to computerized system in receivables, inventory and lapsing schedules is a requirement in this course.
