Physiology provides answers to questions on how an intact, living system works. This course introduces the fundamental physiological concepts and principles governing eukaryotic systems. It focuses on structure-function relationship and the regulation and integration of bodily processes at the molecular, cellular, tissue, and organ-system levels. Discussions highlight selected physiological processes in the animal and plant systems. Specific mechanisms by which homeostasis is maintained as well as the implications of homeostatic imbalance are emphasized.
