This course will focus on the meaning and relevance of history and the important role that historians play in the society. It will discuss the primary activities of the historians, their assumptions and limitations, and their social responsibility to the society. It will train students to evaluate evidence, organize information, clarify and structure concepts and write historical narratives. The course will also discuss the leading contemporary schools of thought in history and the problems that influence the interpretation and writing of history.
