This course is a study of the life and works of Dr. Jose Rizal in the context of the formation of the Filipino Nationalism, its relevance, and its application on the continuing problems in the contemporary Philippines. Among the topics covered are Rizal's biography and his writings, particularly the novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, some of his essays, and various correspondences.
